It means the signed PDF revision passed detached CMS cryptographic verification against the included signing certificate. The report separately identifies later bytes. It does not prove certificate trust, revocation status, signer legal identity or approval of later changes.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Verify Signature: questions & answers

Useful answers. Clear next steps.

At a glance

Inspect certificate-based PDF signatures, verify signed bytes locally, see certificate details and identify changes after each signed revision. Offline cryptographic verification is not a trust, revocation or legal-identity certification. Trusted timestamps, online revocation and unsupported signature formats are not verified. Processing stays in your browser. Start with the shared 30-minute trial; paid passes keep the same published limits. Registered accounts can start 30 continuous minutes of all-tools access every 3 hours, measured from the previous start. Idle time counts; unused minutes do not roll over. Paid passes provide continuous access.

Are my PDFs or passwords uploaded?

No. Document processing runs in your browser. PDF content and passwords stay on your device. Account, payment and optional traffic services do not receive document content or passwords.

What does a successful signature check mean?

It means the signed PDF revision passed detached CMS cryptographic verification against the included signing certificate. The report separately identifies later bytes. It does not prove certificate trust, revocation status, signer legal identity or approval of later changes.

Who signed, and when?

The report shows the certificate subject, issuer, validity dates, SHA-256 fingerprint and signer-declared signing time when present. A certificate subject is not independently verified identity, and a claimed time is not a verified trusted timestamp.

Which signatures can be verified?

Unencrypted PDFs with detached adbe.pkcs7.detached or ETSI.CAdES.detached CMS signatures are supported. Graphical signatures have no cryptographic certificate to verify. Encrypted signatures, document timestamps, unsupported algorithms and other formats are reported as unsupported rather than certified.

What are the file and page limits?

Use one PDF up to 350 MB, with a 350 MB output ceiling, up to 150 pages per PDF. Offline cryptographic verification is not a trust, revocation or legal-identity certification. Trusted timestamps, online revocation and unsupported signature formats are not verified. Browser memory and supported formats can impose practical limits.

Is this tool free to try?

All tools share one 30-minute trial without registration. For continuous access, sign in and buy an available all-tools pass. Published file, page, format and device limits apply to every pass. Registered accounts can start 30 continuous minutes of all-tools access every 3 hours, measured from the previous start. Idle time counts; unused minutes do not roll over. Paid passes provide continuous access.
